Read an XML inside Javascript - Object doesnt support this property or method ( ERROR )

Have you even faced with such an error. Ya many times even i have faced. Let me tell you when have i faced this kind of situation.

When i tried to use getElementsByTagName method for looping through an xml and get the node values. We get this error because the xml you are trying to is a string.

Here what we need to do is parse the xml using a dom parser and convert the xml from a string into an xml. Once this is done you could use getElementsByTagName method to loop through and get the value.

I know for everyone its hard to get clear with theoretical than a practical one.

Here i will give you an one:

var xml = "<persons><person><name>Jack</name><address>US</address><person><name>Rose</name><address>UK</address></person></persons>";

This is our xml. Now if we try
xml.getElementsByTagName("name");
then we will get an error.

Instead go for the following steps.
parser=new DOMParser();
xmlDoc=parser.parseFromString(xml,"text/xml");
Then you use
xml.getElementsByTagName("name");
You will be succeeded.

What's wrong with the film 180 ?

180 ( Nootrenbadhu ) - Positive:15 , Negative:85

180 is the product of the joint venture of Sathyam Cinemas & Aghal Films. The director of the film is a popular ad film maker Jayendra. Sharreth is the music director for the film who is from Mollywood. After 7 years Siddharth is back to Kollywood with 180 after Mani Ratnam's Ayudha Ezhuthu. Its a triangular love story with plots based on Siddharth, Priya Anand & Nithya Menon.

Plot:

Siddharth is a doctor in USA. Priya Anand has met with an accident and is being admitted in the same hospital where Siddharth is practicing. By the time she gets discharged they both become friends which leads to love. With both of their families’ permission they get married and they lead a happy married life. Suddenly he gets to know that he is suffering from a deadly cancer and that he will not last for more than six months. Then he leaves her and comes to India. But the way he has left her and in the police enquiry they come to a conclusion that he committed suicide.


Here in India he meets a child named Mano who doesn't know the meaning or pain of death. From that time onwards he forgets about his condition and becomes Mano. He starts living an happy life helping others. Nithya Menon falls in love with him and proposes him. The next day he vacates the home and leaves the city. She searches for him and when she finds him she met with an accident in front of Siddharth. Due to some problems Siddharth takes her to the same hospital where he was practicing and saves her life. He sends her back to India faking that he will board the flight. Meanwhile he tries to meet Priya but seeing her happy and thinking why to remind her old things he walks off. In the end he leaves to Brazil where he takes a new identity.

Positives of the Film:

The film is so stylish and is a visual treat. The angles of the shots are very different and have got a great output. Both Nithya Menon has played their part well. The locations are a plus and some of the background scores are fresh. Nothing much to say with a positive note.

Negatives of the Film:

We could keep on adding things with this portion. The main drawback is the storyline, which is too old. They could have overtaken this negative with the screenplay. But that too went in vain. There is nothing much to laugh or to cry or to feel love that too in a romantic film. There is no scene that you will remember when you are out of the film. The songs too start good but they keep dragging it that you feel bored with the song by the time it finishes. Similarly there are ultra slow motion song which they wasted applying to the whole length of the song instead of applying it in portions. Siddharth is only fit for choclate boy roles. He doesnt act at all in these emotion scenes. If you leave him to smile he keeps smiling for the whole day. He kills all of us instead of getting him killed. Warning:If you have nothing to do for the weekend, then also you better dont give it a try. If you are a robot you could just go sit and come.

Change in Domain name-Is it Really useful?

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers announced the biggest change in internet about domain name. Now we will have specific domain like .com, .in, .org .We can easily identifies whether its organization or network and we can identify regions also . Now the ICANN announced we can have any kind of customized domain names like ” www.fordindustries.ford”. It’s called generic top level domain. After 26 years of internet age it is considered as a drastic change in world wide.

The Advantage of customized change may helpful user to track the single organization , and the increase in domain name. But disadvantage of being this in change is, If intermediate is blocking the domain name , the organization has to pay lot of money to get back that domain name. It may be a drastic change in internet whether it’s useful or not? We have to wait and see.

If you buy an app or anything on one device and if you iCloud it then it will automatically be available in all your devices connected with the cloud. You could view or change the same document from all devices. If you take a snap iCloud makes it automatically that you have a copy in all your devices.

It keeps all your contacts, calendars and emails with current updates in all your devices. So you no need to worry about saving one contact in one device and another contact in another device. Even though if you do so both the contacts will be iclouded and you will have both contacts available in both of your devices. There are more advantages of iCloud and this one post is not enough. Balas Avan Ivan Movie Review

Verdict - A must must must watch.....

Avan Ivan - The name of the movie itself points to Vishal - Arya. Vishal Arya starrer Avan Ivan is produced by Kalpathi s Aghoram for AGS Banner. Music is taken care by Yuvan Shankar Raja while lyrics is penned by Na Muthukumar. This has been directed quickly and brilliantly from our own National Award winning director Bala.

The highlight of the film is that Bala who is well known for his serious films has tried his hands on a comedy film for the first time in his career. And this is also his quickest film among his all other films. We all are aware of this. We have spoken many things about the film. Lets get deeper into the film review.

Walter Vanangamudi is a squint eyed guy. I know you all have guessed that its Vishal who is very eager about the results of the film and we expect him to bag a national award for the first time for his splendid performance in this film. Next comes the Kumbudren Sami. Ya once Vishal is over who else can be this sami. Ya its Arya. These two youths come as rustic villagers have got a lot of stuff in their bags.

They make you laugh, to such an extent that you seat floors will shake. Its a comedy drama. Its that both Arya and Vishal play as thieves. The movies theme is that it deals with smuggling of cow, cattles and selling it to Kerala. The movie comes for us from Theni. And other news that has not been revealed is that the hero of the movie Ellam Avan Seyal, RK is playing the baddie for this movie.

The rest of the movie deals with the comedy parts in and out of the theft cows travelling to kerala with vishal and arya taking you to the climax. The songs are already a hit and are topping up in the charts.

India vs West Indies Cricket Series

I dont know what for is this series or for whom.. Indian team that has gone for the series is one such a worst team.. And the West indian team playing against is another one worst team.. I havnt seen such a worst series ever in my life.. Just now world cup was over and another big ipl was over and now they have gone for a series.. i couldnt believe that it is an international cricket tournament.. The crowd for the matches are another highlight.. Even the crowd in our college for our inter college match would be more than this.. I dont know for what they are conducting this series.. And dhoni as if he is a big shot he is not going to the tour.. He has been given rest.. Atleast he could have come back to form with this series.. I hope his luck helps our Indian team and he continues to run on his luck and bring some more cups for india.. All the best for the indian team.. If this continues within one year no former players will be there.. Sehwag sachin gambhir will be given a long rest i hope so :) Lets wait and watch what happens..
